StArt Plein Air

History
The Art Camp of Csongrád was organized for the first time in 1974 by fresh graduate artists, among others, Sándor Aranyi. This arthouse  hosted the ’Plein Air International Art Camp’ of Csongrád, which celebrated its 20th jubilee in 2010.
Throughout its 20-year  history,  the ‘Plein Air’ has arranged the ’Meeting of Masters and Students’ five times, where the masters invited one of their students to the artcamp. We met this way for the first time in 2009 and decided to follow our masters’ tradition and arrange our own artcamp, the StArt Plein Air.

Our aims
-maintaining international cultural relations
-improving communication among artists;  getting to know various approaches and creative processes
- possibility to enrich national and international contemporary fine arts collections
- presenting the Hungarian cultural and art life and  its results to foreign artists
What is Plein Air?
Painting outdoors, capturing the atmosphere of a sight. It’s a French expression which means “open air”. The essence of our artcamp is to establish a creative camp where young artists can pursue their activity in a calm and peaceful environment.

The place
The city of Csongrád  is situated on the banks of  river Tisza, on the Great Hungarian Plain. The accomodation of the artists will be provided in the holiday resort of Tamás Bodor in Körös-torok. This holiday home lies in a picturesque environment, along the banks of river Tisza at the mouth of Hármas-Körös. Closeness to nature is a guarantee to artists to create in a peaceful and relaxed environment.

About sponsors, for sponsors
The artcamp of the young artists would like to give thanks to Tamás Bodor, who offered accomodation to us. We will organize  ‘music nights’ throughout the two weeks of the artcamp, to which everyone is invited. This way those who will come will have further possibilities to get to know the artists better.
The organizers of the StArt Plein Air are seeking futher sponsors. Any additional offers are gladly received.
Our current aim is to find sponsors who will help with the catering of the artists.
We assure our sponsors that on our blog,  in our planned exhibitions and on their promotional materials (leaflets, posters and invitations) the sponsors will be indicated.
